Welcome

Welcome to my blog! I never really thought I would create a blog untill hubby set up a family one. I started posting to it and was told off for "hijacking" it with my "craft rubbish!" And so the Nerdbird Blog was born! Not sure how much I'll post but I understand that this blogging lark can be addictive!

365 Day Challenge 234 to 237

Prompt 237: If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.I am slowly rebuilding my life without Mum, it is scary to think about the future without her, never being able to ask her for advice. The boys have been a brilliant help and without them I don't know if I would have been able to pick up the pieces quite so easily.

Prompt 236: Make visible what, without you, might perhaps have never been seen
This quote made me think about the boys - they won't be here if it wasn't for me, well they wouldn't be here in the same form I guess.

Prompt 235: Faith is to believe what we do not see; and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe
Prompt 234: I say to the moment: Stay now! You are so beautiful!
I have had a alot of beautiful moments in my life, I love the fact that my hobbie lets me "freeze" those moments and preserve them for years to come. I am getting much better at journalling as I now realise that the stories behind the photos are just as if not more important than the photos. I have alot of my Nan's photos now and with Mum gone there is no one to tell me about them

Mini Books - Mum and New York

Been thinking about Mum lately and decided to make a Mini book of my fav photos and also to finish off the paper bag book of our New York trip in 2005 which I started about 3 yrs ago!!!
This is 2 Maya Rd books put together, one chipboard and one perspex (I thought they were the same size but the perspex one is slightly smaller)

Lovely Day and some LO's

I had a lovely day with Sue yesterday - chatting and scrapping our own little mini crop! Just what I needed.
I did the same LO for Will's 1st year so have been meaning to do Ollie's for a while ago.
Back in 2006 Em set a challenge to make a LO of the whole year on one page, which I did at the time but doing Ollie's year DLO made me think about doing the same for Will each year so here is 2006 and 2007.
I was taking pictures of Ollie walking and Will jsut appeared out of no where as I took the photo - it just makes me laugh so much, and Will was laughing at me laughing - just a really funny moment.
Been meaning to scrap these photos of Will for ages - My little Harry Potter

Confidence

This months theme on Scapbooking from the inside out is Confidence.
Here is a LO of Mum and Glenn. They are both Armadillos! - hard on the outside, soft on the inside. Journalling is about how most people think they are both really confident people when actually alot of it is an act to hide what is really inside them.

Another prompt was about how confident you feel about your body. I like that I curve in all the right places, problem is a curve in the wrong ones too!

365 LO's

LO32: fav quote from last week
LO31: Use a non traditional scrapbook product - the photo corners are coke can ring pulls
LO30:
LO29: Scrap your star sign

365 Day Challenge 217 to 226

Struggled with these wordy prompts, not felt much inspiration, so not very exciting photos!
Prompt 226: The world is grand, awfully big and astonishingly beautiful, frequently thrilling.

Very true! I would love to see more of the world than I have but I guess until the boys are bigger that will have to wait. For now I will have to just revel in the wonders of my own little world, and with the boys it is certainly full of suprises!

Prompt 225: Remember the feeling as a child when you woke up and morning smiled? It's time you felt like that again.Hummm I rarely wake up with a smile on my face as I don't do mornings! def more of a grunt than a smile!

Prompt 224: When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me.Prompt 223: Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. What is more simple than the joy of a child on a bouncy castle! Or in Will and Dylan's case the joy of jumping off the climbing frame and over the wall of the bouncy castle!

Prompt 222: Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory. My parents have always said that as long as we did our best at something that was the most important thing, not winning or the best grades. I certain think this is a true, trying your hardest and being the best you can be for you is the most important

Prompt 221: Appreciation...acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. Prompt 220: Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. you only need a heart full of grace. a soul generated by love Prompt 219: The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others Today I have being making a wedding album for my best friend's hubby as his anniversary present to her, lovely as she is certain he has forgotton!

Prompt 218: If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain.If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again,I shall not live in vain. I always try to help others, often putting others before myself. I hate seeing people in pain and always want to help if I can.

Prompt 217: No person ever ended his eyesight by looking on the bright side.” Makes me think of Monty Python! Always looking on the bright side of life is soemthing I try to do, I try and be glass half full. Don't always manage it but I do try
